We used to call this Stop The Bus and one other rule we had was that you had to have more than 14 in value in your hand before you can knock.

After one show player 1 lost his life then how to start next round
🙂love it
I play 31 like this
Aces are 1 unless their with two face cards of the same suit it’s 11
What happens when a player hits 31 during the last round? (just after a knock) I'm assuming everyone but the 31 hand pays but it is reasonable to make the player who knocked pay double.
What do you do if you run out of draw cards?
At 00:19 he sounds like he’s gonna sneeze
At 5:04 player 1 has 25 not 15 because all of the cards are the same suit
It is not fair to give every player (except the knocker) one more chance to draw after the knock. Instead, you should simply complete the round. In this way all players will have an equal number of opportunities to draw by game end. Let me illustrate. If P1 draws first and also knocks later in the game, then P2, P3 and P4 should get one more chance to draw. But if P2 knocks (assuming P1 drew first), then P3 and P4 should get one more chance to draw, but not P1. Similarly, if P3 knocks (again assuming P1 drew first), then P4 should get one more chance to draw, but not P1 or P2. And finally, if P4 knocks (assuming, as before, that P1 drew first), then no player should get one more chance to draw. In other words, the end of the game always coincides with the end of a round except when a hand of 31 is revealed. In that case, the game ends immediately. This is the only truly fair way of playing 31. Otherwise, some players will get one more turn to draw than others.
Thank you! I am the only person in the family that does not play, but now I can be involved. Your explanations are easy to understand.
I thought this was Skat
just like stop the bus how ever with me give like
Awesome thanks! 👌
Can you pick up a card from the discard pile and put it back or do you have to keep it
What happens if you knock and tie someone for highest hand? Or if you knock and someone has a higher hand but you don't have the lowest?
You're saying if a player loses 3 chips, they are still in the game until they lose another life. Does that mean that each player has to lose 4 lives before exiting the game, despite having 3 chips each?
We added one rule – if a player that has lost and was out was accidentally dealt back in they were restored at the honor level and back in the game.
anlayan anladı puhahahaha
When do all players shows their card
What if there are more members? Can we play with 2 deck of cards ?
Great Scat review! I was rusty. thanks
What happens if a player has 3 aces (33)
For anyone who's tried this game with actual money, how well do you say it does as a gambling game?
Fun fact: This game is popular in Germany, where it's called "Schwimmen," translated rather obviously to 'Swimming'
Lol this isn’t quite right dude
sj
We use one joker, is this wrong?
I lives in a small town, and basically everyone I knows loves playing this game. We plays a slightly different version, where 3 of a kinds are worth 30.5 instead of 30
My family played this game all the time, but we called it "blitz," which is also what we called a hand of 31. We didn't follow the rule about counting three-of-a-kind as 30. If you had a hand with three fours, it was just a really lousy hand. This is a great game for kids to play with adults, as the rules are very simple and everyone has a chance to win.
we play a little different..first we play for money..we have four $/coins. when you lose them you are on grace meaning you can continue to play as long as you are not low in a hand or knocked out with the rest of table with another player getting 31. it is not uncommon for someone on grace to run the table and win it all. Each card stand on it's own, example 4, 9 and a king of the same suite is 23, not 30 just because they are of the same suite.. In the example at the end both player 1 and 2 have 25, player 4 has 23 so player four only pays, the way we play, regardless of who knocks
I used to play this with my nan..she called it Cabby?
If we draw the last card, what happens?
On Fri may have been in business for over two weeks ago by a couple weeks ago by a couple weeks ago bytes of your choice
My family loves playing this game! Though we play slightly different. 3 of a kind doesn't count as 30 (just a bad hand) unless you get it on the intial first 3 cards you're dealt, then it plays like a 31. We play with dollar bills and every time you lose 1 or 2 points you fold that many corners of the dollar, when you've lost 4 lives and all 4 corners are folded, you then throw your dollar into the center and this represents you being on your honor, which is your 5th and final life, which really gets you to focus and puts the heat on you to perform consistently, winner takes all the dollars. A good strategy that can help or hurt you is to knock very early on even though you have a decently low hand as you only have to beat 1 person and if you think someone might be lower this can burn people's lives quickly and make them mad 🤣 also if you want to really be gutsy and make people mad, do what my brother does and knock on your first turn without even looking at your hand to let fate decide 🤣 it's a great time and a blast to play, we have tournaments from time to time and it's great cause it can bring in low skill players so people feel like they can jump in as opposed to something like poker where the kids don't understand or it's just over some people's heads, it's just simple get 31 or the best you can all same suit!
90% of how you explained was correct. But the proper way at the end when you lose 3 coins you are actually on the Bus. When you are on the bus that means you lost three coins(lives) and you have your last hope. Thats the way I've been playing my whole life with my family. Other than that, everything is correct!
Dude, we used to play this up north (Wisconsin) at camp. We played for candy money. My uncle had a sweet tooth, so he always lost… 😂
31 is called "trentuno" not thirty one because it's italian. and you play it with neopolitan cards, not french cards. this is all wrong and re-adapted to a totally different game. shame.
What’s with this 3 lives stuff? Is it new or what
Play with three $1 stacks. Whoever is low puts $1 into middle. Winner take all.
