The best game since Covid19.

i was in jail 2 years. you cant play this with 4 people. Its a two person game.

I remember back in summer 2010, i was on a holiday i Greece with my patents and my best friend back then. My father learned me and my friend this card game, and we loved it so much! We wouldn’t go to bed because of this rather simple card game! In the last 10 years i’ve totally forgot everything about hvis game and randomly fell over this again! Thank you!

This is like Scopa

that's pretty much what italians call SCOPA played with a regular deck of cards instead o the italian one

learned this in jail

I know a similar game, it's called "Escopa de 15", you remove 8s, 9s, and 10s, and deal three cards to each player (instead of four), and you open four cards on the table, instead of having to add up values to take the cards, in Escopa de 15 you add up to 15, the Q is worth 8, J is 9 and K is 10 (A is 1), and the rest is worth face value. Just like in this game, you can only play one card at a time, and you have to trail if you can't add up to 15. You get points like this:

Most cards

Most diamonds

Most sevens

The seven of diamonds

Each of them is worth a point

You can also get points by making "Escopas", that is, making a sum of 15 that leaves no cards on the table, forcing your opponent to trail, you get one point for each Escopa you make

In Illinois prison we deal out 6 cards in the first round and 4 cards the rest. 10 of diamonds is 3 points, deuce of spade is 2 points, aces are 1 point each, most spades 1 point and cards is 1 point. Also in the last round of dealing you have to say "cards or all of them". Letting the other player know there's no more cards left. Fail to do so, the other player gets a extra point. This version is called 6-5. First player to six points wins the game. Its awesome that there are many different versions of this game.

At my job We play this game with 2 Decks and 4 people.

This is not how I learned to play

You forgot to mention the "sweep". If a player picks u a combination and leaves the table empty this is worth 1 point

Wait…, what if there are still 4 cards left on the board and no player has a match from their hand or things that can be equivalent to the number and/or face cards while the dealer still has cards and the players still have 4 cards?

Why do you do now?

————————————————————

Also, what does the dealer do if there are 4 cards on the board and both players still have 1-3 cards in their hand and none of them are allowed to be placed or trailed on to the middle of the board?

————————————————————

Can you also, call combination on top of a call combination and/or a build combination?

On the last hand if a person only needs 2 points, is the game over when that person gets 2 points

Can you play a card from your hand that would be used to add up to a card in the middle? For example, in the middle there is a 5 and an 8. I have a 3 in my hand. Can I play the 3 on the 5 and move it to the 8 and take all 3 cards?

Who goes first after a all players have run out of the 4 cards they were dealt (Not the end of the game but when players would receive 4 more cards each)?

Can you pair a build? For example: There is a 5 in the middle. Player 1 plays a 5 and says "building 10". Can player two play a 5 to capture both 5's that were building 10?

Very well explained! So many card games sound interesting – as I've been trying to learn more beyond 5 card draw poker, blackjack, hearts (at a Window's edition level) and …solitaire(s) – yet reading the gameplay is sometimes more confusing than just seeing it done. Thanks much!

Thank you!

All the rules are the same as I continue to play today except for 2 difffent rules:

1) When the Ace is in a player's hand is worth 14 but once the Ace is in the table is worth one. Therefore is not allowed to pair the Ace on the table to take it. The player must add multiple cards or build a combination.

2) We play with one Joker. The Joker is worth 15 (just like the Jack is 11, Queen is 12, King is 13) and the Joker is worth 3 points if you manage to take it.

Jail game lol

You can build and then continue to pick up cards but can't trail a card correct?

money

THIS IS WRONG.

The jack = 11

The queen =12

The King =13

And the ace = 14 when in hands ✋️ and =1 when on the floor

You could also play a variation where you get a bonus point each time you swipe the table, taking every card there is, and you place one of the cards sideways in your collective pile as a tab.

"Death of a Salesman" brought me here.

This game changed my life. My dad taught me how to play at age 5. By age 7, I was repeatedly destroying his buddies at card nights. Playing for candy, I had a mission. Destroy.

My love for cards was born through Cassino.

Bruh I used to play this as well as spades in juvenile prison and in county jail

Germans would play the ace is one on the table but 14 in the hand. I learned by your method but came to like the German method better. So a ten and two could be taken by a queen. etc.

Me and the wife play cut throat cassino where you can also subtract so nothing is safe. If 8 and 9 are on the table and I have an ace then 9-8=1 and I take it with the ace. It's extremely hard to leave anything on the table because it can now be altered from the table or your hand even stacking, say, 9s because say 18 -10=8 and can be taken. It's way more challenging and fun and my wife is deadly at finding combos to steal my stack.

Thank you!

We play it a little differently. Ace is 14 on the hand and one on the table. You can't use it in builds if it's not already on the table. Two of spade is 15 on the hand and two on the table. Ten of diamonds is 16 on the hand and 10 on the table. The last two also have to be on the table to use in builds. Clearing the table gives you one extra point. Call combinations can't be taken by others.

Definitely not how I learned in the correctional facility as a youngster, but heyyyy! 🤷🏽♂️

me and my cousin played this and we have the same amount of cards (26), so we went thought we would just count who wins by the other points, but i got the most spades, big casino and little casino (so i got 4 points) and he got all of the aces (so he also got 4 points) so we decided to end it with rock paper scissors (i won)

we had the biggest laugh that night, it was awesome

I’m surprised this game isn’t as popular as Spades and Bid Whist.

This game is nowhere near as difficult as some card game authors describe it. Older children can easily learn and grasp it. The draw version is better than this (standard) version.

What if i cant do anything on the first move?

Everyone please note this game is different depending on where you live, In my country we dont use most cards AND/OR "most spades". "Big Casino"/10 of diamonds ( we call it "Big Mamma") is the is the one to have, a draw goes to the one who has this card. After that its anyone who gets the most points. Not cards. If you think this unfair remember that having only Big Mamma means everyone else is out to get you and is looking for you…this is why I cant play this (video/op) version of it, collection of more cards just to win feels like cheating to me. Anyone can collect cards but it takes skill to secure points. Main rule, there are 7 points and only 7, most points secured wins

Haram

:(Help Needed): Im a little confused, so if i had a 4 in my hand and there was a 3 and 7 on the table. Then can I use the 4 and 3 to build 7 and then use the 7 to take it. I don't think this is possible but just checking?

In South Africa we play a slightly different variant, first kings, queens and jokers are not used. Secondly all cards are dealt to players hands, no cards are dealt to the floor unless there's odd number of players

Cuando era niño, éramos seis hermanos, jugamos esto juego con mi hermano menor de 4 años. Cuándo él fué al kínder garden, su maestra no podía creer lo bueno que era para las matemáticas. 😅

"The Asphalt Jungle" (1950) brought me here!

I thought you get 1 point for most cards and 2 cards for most spades. Also if you clear all the cards on the table you would get one point.

That's amazing

Great explanation! 👍🏻
