The object of the game is to collect the most 4 of a kinds. Setup: Shuffle a standard deck of playing cards and deal 5 cards to each player. Players look at their cards but do not show them to others. Pick a player to go first, then play proceeds clockwise.

On your turn you ask 1 other player for any card rank. For example: “Bob, do you have any three’s?” The asked player must give you all the cards matching the rank from their hand, then you get to take another turn. If the asked player doesn’t have any of the asked cards in their hand they say: “Go Fish.” You then must draw 1 card from the top of the deck. If you draw the card you had just asked for, show it and take another turn, otherwise end your turn.

Whenever a player gets all four of cards of the same rank, a “4 of a kind”, they immediately remove those cards from their hand and place them grouped together face up in front of themselves. Whenever a player runs out of cards in their hand they immediately draw 5 new cards from the deck. When the deck runs out of cards, play continues until every card in every player’s hand is gone.

The game is now over. Each player receives 1 point for each 4 of a kind match they have in front of them. The player with the most points wins.

  1. I played the Percy Jackson and the lightning thief version of this game in high school

  2. when u was reading the instructions on bicycle it just seemed a little complicated. I'm a visual learner

  3. I heard the expression "Go Fish" but had no idea WTF it was.Have watched Season 1 Episode 7 "War of the Cheeks" of The Boss Baby: Back in the Crib on Netflix. The family plays game of Go Fish but with animal cards. The game makes no sense to me. A player asks another player if they have a certain card. The other play could just lie and say they don't have it. Who keeps track of what was asked and what others' replies are?I am a PhD Mathematician. I love proving theorems. I love mathematically modeling things, including modeling law and justice and politics, my own way. I admire the modeling game theorists have done (e.g. John Nash), but I have never believed that their way is anything special or unique. I love proving things about infinite classes of games, complexity classes. But, I have zero interest in playing any actual games. Never have.

  4. Please let me know if you have any questions

  5. I once played go fish in a motel room here in Riverside ca. It was New Years Eve on a king size bed. Its fun to play with 3 players, of course myself and two of my lady friends wearing nothing but hotel robes with wine in their hands. As the night went on rules change of the game? All and all, all three of us had a good time playing this game that there is no losers only winner. Talking from experience, thank you great video. 😀

  6. Many gardeners use this concept to keep those plants upright and strong and for good reason. This is one of the easiest trellises to build and it’s a really strong one that won’t cave to the weight of your plants.

  7. i just realized go fish is like watered down gin rummy 😆

  8. Nice and quick explanation I LOVE IT good work 👏🏼
