  1. Reminds me of a game Karak. The dungeon tiles are almost the same. Check it out its a great boardgame.

  2. so goodgis i really wanna know if u would consider this stealing ur game or not, i was about to take some inspiration from your game, first it was the map generating thing and the character and item cards, until i realized that even my "unique" features were in urs too, the abilities, the speed, etc.
so idrk what to do bc my game is extremely similar to yours i just added a unique feature where your character can have a type, for example a golem is rock and a hammer has a boost to attack if used against rock.
the core mechanic is that everyone starts off taking turns rolling dice and the person with the biggest number gets to make a 6×6 map with the 50 cards they have (they have to put 35 since a tile is already placed), now this might seem unfair bc he can put all the chests next to each other and just take them all but the spawn is actually randomized depending on dice (hard to explain so i wont explain it here) after that they get to take a card out of the 20 they have as their character along with an item, there are tiles with treasure chests too just like your game. so would you consider that stealing your game? i have no idea honestly.

  3. Now seeing all this makes me want to make my own card game

  5. I once made a simple multiplayer board game for my niece. Printed on two sheets of A4 photographic paper. I didn't know about vector graphic, so everything was horribly pixelated (I used Paint). The game was a blast. So satisfying for me, too 🙂

  6. Goodgis can I use the mechanic that you build your own map throught the game

  9. This looks great. Wish there was a way I could hunt it down in the UK.

  10. What stops a couple players from blocking the gate in an attempt to kill the player with the key?
I remember a game on the PS1 that was sorta similar to this concept. It went by the name Battle Hunter. It lets up to 4 people or AI opponents race to find the key item then escape the dungeon. The problem was most players just made a bee-line for the exit and beat the shit out of the person holding the key, then the remaining players beat the shit out of the key holder, rinse, repeat.
Did you manage to make this a nonviable strategy?

  11. I challenge you to make eit free for 2 days

  12. Why does Youtube recommend this to me know when it's impossible to get except print and play? Man, it looks pretty great. Nice work on rolling up your sleeves and just saying, "Guess I'll have to do it myself!"

  13. Hello, i'm french and i want to create my own game but i don't know how to make good visuals, i'm at the step "all is drawn by me on paper" so i want to know which software did you use to create design like characters and tiles for the dungeon ? and how did you create the box ? thanks !

  14. if i want to make a board game where would i produce it so that it is in stores?

  15. You know, three years ago I came up with an idea for a game called Deeper Dungeons. It was a co-op card game, where you open doors to discover rooms, and each room has a chance to contain nothing, an enemy, or a treasure (draw from the item deck) The goal of the game was to get OUT of the dungeons by finding the set of stairs that were placed somewhere it the deck. I made it completely by hand, and still think about remaking it and publishing today. Inspiration: GOT.

  16. wow THANKS. Im a woman and Ive been creating this game (for fun as a hobby, it's based on a tv show so hopefully ill get at least some player feedback, i prefer that to money) and I always felt like an intruder and imposter because i have NOT been making video games since i was a child. i never played video games as a child or teen (we were not allowed) and addiitionally to being a woman this made me feel like im an imposter as a indi dev. BUT I realised I have been making games since I am a child: BOARD GAMES. I cant count how many card and board games I made as a child. many bad ones that were heavily inspired by games I loved, but also some fun ones ased on books i read.

  17. Thank you for sharing your process and experience with making a board game. I was a bit inspired to continue creating a game I'm working on.

  18. I want to buy it, but it’s not available anymore. Bring it to Europe please.

  19. Sounds a LOT like Betrayal. Thats not a bad thing, just saying it does.

  20. Hey can you help me I also been trying to make a board game with my friend but we have a big problem we don't know what charecters we should do can you give me ideas

  21. Well at least you got some videos out of it!
I wonder what problems you found in that grindy DC that made you ditch the whole idea.

  22. This reminds me of a game called saboteur search it up.

  23. so do you still have any boards left? How much is it?

  24. I Made a game very similar to this in my game design class. It was like this but Luigi mansion themed

  25. Great video! Gotta disagree with the opening statements though, boardgames definitely have had compenent upgrades over time, minis have huge appeal, and story and theme is a big part of many western board games.

  26. I love roguelikes and I also love board games I've never seen a roguelike board game

  27. Hey, I'm making a card game that is built in a similar way for a university assignment, may I ask for help from you guis? im in like a "wall'' right now.

  28. It reminds me of the board game “Key to the Kingdom”, but more simplified

  29. What kind of paper did u use for the cards? Also awesome game!

  30. This looks very similar to Catacombs of Karack
