  1. As someone who liked the core gameplay loop of Shadowrun: Crossfire, but found it extremely punishing and couldn't really see a point to the progression system given that the base game only has like 4 scenarios (some of which are listed as 3p+ only)…How is this game intended to actually be played? Are you supposed to be playing community content? Are there mandatory expansions that add enough scenarios to be worth it?I'm certain I'm missing something. I'd like to give this game another shot, but I don't actually understand how one is intended to consume this.(I'm legitimately curious since you have a lot of games in, so I assume you understand it).

  2. I'm sure someone has beat me to this question, but – what are the cheaper in-print options of these? Thanks for the video, Rahdo, and your input, folks.

  3. Incredibly sad that most of these are sold out and just gone.

  4. This came across my feed. I didn't realize its 4 years old at the time of my viewing. I wonder what has dropped off and what new games have replaced them.

  5. Looking for a game to play with my co-worker on our 45 min lunch breaks. He likes cooperative, adventure, dungeon crawl, sci-fi, dice and cards. We don't have room on our desk for a large game board. Any suggestions?

  6. Can you play the big book of madness in solo mode choosing two characters?

  7. Love me some Arkham Horror card game. Turn on a horror soundtrack, read the game text aloud and it creates a terrific environment oozing with flavour for a night of gaming. Really happy you included this one.

  8. If Warhammer Quest The Adventure Card game is not on this list, I will eat my hat. Update: Better get chewing…

  9. No Assault On Doomrock. I am surprised.

  10. Woot!!!!! Love your choose for No.1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Longtime lurker checking in. I love you and your videos! Please keep up the awesome work

    Pathfinder Adventure Card Game (1:57)

    Shadowrun: Crossfire (21:35)

  12. a bit of an esoteric, niche categorization, but I'll go with it because Rado rules and these games are great

  13. 2 top 10 videos in one day?!!!?! Is it Christmas?

  14. Completely agree with you about Shadowrun: Crossfire being a fantastic game. Definitely my favorite co-op game (and has been for a while now). I'll have to try out a couple of other games on your list since I've only played 5 of them.

  15. The lure of Cthulu is coming for you! I expect this time next year an entire shelf to be AH:TCG. 😉

  16. So, with Shadowrun: Crossfire as your number one, what are your thoughts on the recently announced Dragonfire built on the same engine?

  17. Rahdo, are you looking forward to Dragonfire, and will you be doing a runthrough for it?

  18. I knew that Kevin Riley (Aeons End) was a professional StarCraft player but had no idea he was involved in Magic too. Very interesting. Such a good game, this would be my #1 but I haven't played Shadowrun, I will have to check it out. Thanks for the great content as always.

  19. Love Rahdo, Keep it up. Add Advertisement, monetise. I love this channel.

  20. Great top 2 – guess you are really stoked for the crossfire reimplementation – dragonfire? I know I am 🙂

  21. Poor Jen, you guys did not knew this show is a slaughterhouse?

Anyway, for LOTR lotr-lcg-quest-companion.com/ is the website that features all realevant rules under the quest.
Helps alot with that stuff 🙂

  22. I'm working hard to create my own board game. I've been working for about 5 years on it! Your videos inspire me!!

  23. I also enjoyed Arkham Horror – The Card Game but was turned off by the base game being only for two players, and then the cost of the additional modules were spendy.

I have two groups of people that are still playing different Pathfinder Card games (Skull and Shackles, and Wrath of the Righteous) and we can't get enough. The growth of the characters makes for very different game when different characters are selected. Really fun group strategy.

Tried to find Goblins vs Zombies, but no. Is it been released yet?

Since you included Shadowrun, I'm curious if Legendary Encounters: Aliens was considered? Incredibly thematic game.

  24. Fantasy is imagining impossible or improbable things, so pretty broad. As long as something doesn't fall into another genre, the Goonies etc count.

  25. Having never heard of Shadowrift; I hear about it twice in one day, on this list and on 'Look Back' from Tom Vasel.

  26. I'm a big fan of deckbuilders, and one I've been enjoying a lot is Aeon's End. From the playthroughs I've seen of Shadowrift, they seem very similar in gameplay. Is that so? What are your thoughts? Thanks!

  27. Rahdo, do you also have very niche definitions of normal everyday things? "Pasta salad isn't salad because its predominantly noodles and not veggies. So pasta salad is a PASTA and NOT a salad." Haha

  28. Does Xenoshyft fall outside the Adventure genre? Because dang that's a fun game to lose.

  29. Was surprised by The Goonies, not because of the theme, which is awesome, but because it didn't really manage favorable reviews (the reason I never purchased it). Maybe it's worth looking into it…. hmmm….

  30. Hopefully Dragonfire pushes a reprint of Crossfire out as well, really would like to tackle that!

  31. The only one I own is Aeon's End. I've heard about it and it definitely surprised me. The stand Alone expansion should be coming this August. I'll have check out Shadowrun Crossfire.

  32. Great list Rahdo!

Agreed on Arkham LCG. I already own LOTR LCG with zounds of expansions, and there is no way I can spend that much for two LCG's, let alone one.

Love Shadowrun Crossfire myself, but it's Karma/upgrade system is just flawed to me. Only getting 3 per successful run makes no sense, especially when every upgrade costs a number divisible by 5, and they skimp you if you're past the "level" for the mission, meaning you will get less for replaying missions just cause you have a certain amount of Karma. Not only that to keep your previous upgrade, you need to pay an additional 10 plus what the upgrade costs.

I hate house-rules more than anyone, but I had to house rule the karma system in that regard. The game still remains challenging since the upgrades aren't extremely game breaking to begin with(some are actually quite weak for what you pay for to be honest).
